Tim offers a diverse background with research and policy experience at nonprofit, philanthropic, and public sector organizations. He is adept at developing and implementing surveys, conducting interviews, facilitating focus groups, and using statistical and GIS mapping software, as well as methodological approaches to evaluate the contributions of advocacy campaigns. He blends these skills with deep knowledge of a wide range of issues including early child education, child welfare, and juvenile justice. Tim has advanced proficiency in Spanish.
Prior to joining Harder+Company, Tim served as a senior policy associate at Children Now, where he researched and developed state-level policy recommendations across several child-serving systems. He also worked to improve the state’s collection of early child education data and advanced policies to improve access to child care, particularly for children in foster care. Before that, he consulted for the Alameda County Interagency Children’s Policy Council and the Alameda County Early Care and Education Planning Council. As a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs, Tim also facilitated a youth-led project to publicize the issues that commonly challenge children with incarcerated parents, and as a consultant for the Thomas & Jeanne Elmezzi Foundation he wrote a needs and asset report for the communities of Long Island City and Astoria. In his spare time, Tim enjoys basketball, camping, and creative writing.
