Alfonso is a seasoned data analyst whose research work is driven by a passion for community change. He is particularly dedicated to building the capacity of social sector organizations to create, use, and find practical insights from databases and data systems. He is also highly skilled in the use of multiple statistical analysis software systems. In addition supporting clients in large-scale data collection and management, Alfonso has deep experience gathering data from diverse and hard-to-reach populations through focus groups and interviews. Alfonso is fluent in Spanish and has considerable experience designing and translating research tools in both English and Spanish.
Prior to joining Harder+Company, Alfonso was a research assistant at LFA Group in San Francisco, where his work addressed involved researching issues as discrimination against Latino day laborers in the Bay Area. Earlier, he worked as a student researcher on a study of identity and interpersonal communication in virtual settings. He has volunteered extensively for mental health providers, including Children’s Hospital Oakland, Napa State Hospital, and the Seneca Center. When not at work, Alfonso enjoys physical challenges and has participated in numerous obstacle races, marathons, and half-marathons.
