Adapting Software to Changing Program and Evaluation Needs
Webinar Presentation in partnership with Social Solutions, 2011
In October 2011, Harder+Company’s Cristina Magaña co-presented this webinar with Melinda Forstey of the Gary and Mary West Senior Wellness Center. Together they discussed how Harder+Company helped the Senior Center realign its use of ETO (a nonprofit performance management software system developed by Social Solutions) to address changing program and evaluation needs. They outlined key elements for implementing a data system and modifying it over time. The webinar was hosted by Social Solutions. Assessment of San Francisco’s approach to Family Supportive Housing, 2011
Working in partnership with CSH, Harder+Company developed this report showing the effectiveness of San Francisco’s efforts to target new units to families most in need of housing. It also provides information about the characteristics of formerly homeless families living in FSH, identifies families’ service needs, examines how residents fared shortly after entering housing, and explores residents’ satisfaction with their new housing situation.

Harder+Company assisted in the development of Central Santa Ana’s Strategic Community Health Plan, an unprecedented effort supported by The California Endowment to develop a 10-year plan to build a healthier community.
First 5 Monterey County (F5MC)
Our Children, Our Kindergartners: Examining the School Readiness of Monterey County’s Children
Report on the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment, 2010
Since 2004, F5MC has contracted with Harder+Company to carry out all aspects of the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA), which documents the link between early learning opportunities and later academic success. Our 2010 report showed results of the 2009 KRA, which included information from 11 districts, 28 schools, and 100 kindergarten teachers. F5MC also used findings from this research study to inform its 2009-10 annual report to the community.

Building and Sustaining a National Philanthropic Response to AIDS
Evaluation of Community Partnership Model, 2009
Harder+Company Community Research conducted a retrospective evaluation of the impact that the National AIDS Fund’s Community Partnership model had on the U.S. HIV/AIDS epidemic. The report assessed the preceding decade’s worth of strategic giving and identified ways to affect domestic HIV/AIDS policy.

This report summarized our evaluation of TWCF’s Core Operating Support funding efforts. In addition to using the report to improve its grantmaking strategy, TCWF also published the findings in their June 2009 newsletter.
Marin Community Foundation

In late 2007, the Marin Community Foundation asked Harder+Company Community Research to take a close look at the system of services for older adults in Marin County. In partnership with Field Research Corporation, we collected input from more than 800 older adults, policy leaders, service providers, and other community stakeholders.
