As Director of Client Engagement, Kevin works with leaders across the firm to develop and share insights about our work through reports, articles, presentations and via social media. Kevin also contributes various evaluation efforts for our philanthropic clients, particularly in the arts.
With more than 15 years of experience in the social sector, Kevin has a deep understanding of research and evaluation in the context of both grantmaking and nonprofits. His diverse skills range from designing and managing large-scale research projects – including complex databases, multi-tiered surveys, and longitudinal analyses – to using research findings to inform strategy refinement and support internal program learning. He is also an experienced communicator and works with Harder+Company project teams to develop strategies to share findings with key stakeholders using a variety of methods.
Previously, Kevin worked at The James Irvine Foundation, where he managed evaluations and research across the Foundation’s program areas and collaborated with Irvine’s communications team on innovative approaches to sharing knowledge and insights with the field. He also led production of the foundation’s Annual Performance Report, a comprehensive assessment of progress and achievements across Irvine’s program areas and in philanthropy. Kevin has presented at conferences such as Grantmakers for Effective Organizations, the Council on Foundations and Grantmakers in the Arts. A former college radio disc jockey, Kevin now keeps up on music by following his kids’ Spotify playlists and getting out to shows whenever possible.
