Janet Nguyen

Research Assistant

Janet offers expertise in evaluation design and project management through her experience conducting community outreach projects in diverse communities. She weds her passion for health equity and environmental justice with broad experience conducting primary and secondary research through a range of methodologies.  Janet is especially skilled in survey research, managing large administrative datasets, and delivering technical assistance and training. She is also experienced in generating reports and maps using Geographic Information Systems (ArcGIS) software. Janet has advanced proficiency in Vietnamese.

Previously, Janet was a researcher at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health and the California Department of Public Health. Janet also gained experience editing and assessing the quality and validity of scientific research articles for the Center of Excellence for Allied Health Care. In addition, she has volunteered as a Health Coach for the San Francisco Department of Public Health, and served as an educator and counselor for patients with chronic illnesses. Janet is dedicated to serving as a mentor for Vietnamese youth in the community. She also enjoys curling up with a great book at her favorite independent bookstores, and discovering the many hidden gems of the Bay Area.
